Once you decide how much of a border you would like, it doesn’t take any time to trim. My knife glides along the side of the tool so smoothly. The tool is very easy to use with a craft mat and craft knife. The tool still works perfectly fine with thinner paper however you need to be careful when holding the tool, it can shift and you may have to make another cut to even things up. In practicing with different types of paper I found that the heavier paper is much easier to grab the image lip to layer than thinner paper. The directions are very easy to follow, and I completely understood right away. I was a bit intimidated at first, it didn’t make sense to me in just looking at the tool. Perfect Layers are clear acrylic guides with little edges on each side to catch the edge of your image or sentiment layer for cutting.
